Virtualizing the Office – Introduction

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be running a series on this blog about virtualizing the office. Thanks to today’s technology, it is no longer necessary to maintain a traditional office, where everybody has to come in and sit down behind a desk from 9-5, Monday to Friday. It also means that people no longer have to live close to the office that they work at. People can choose the lifestyle that works for them, and employers can draw on a much larger talent pool than just the people who live nearby or are willing to make the move.

In this series, we’re going to look at the technologies that make the virtual office possible, and how to use them to improve your life and the lives of your employees. Next week, we’ll get started by embracing the power of the smartphone.
